INTERNATIONAL REVIEW OF POLITICAL STUDIES
The Editor-in-Chief of the International Review of Political Studies (IROPS) would like to invite researchers with an interest in political studies to consider submitting a manuscript for inclusion in this scholarly journal. Papers can be theoretical and/or empirical.
The following describes the mission, the coverage and the guidelines for submission to IROPS.
International Review of Political Studies is a peer reviewed journal dedicated to transnational issues and global problems and is published two times a year (Spring and Fall). IROPS is the journal for incisive analyses of politics and policies in an international context. The main objective of IROPS is to provide an intellectual platform for the international scholars..
IROPS subscribes to no political or methodological identity, and welcomes any appropriate contributions designed to communicate findings and enhance dialogue. The journal is an independent publication in terms of scientific research and the editors decide its publication policy.
IROPS defines itself as critical and independent in character, truly international in scope, and totally engaged with the central issues facing the world today.
The Journal is especially interested in comparative analyses. IROPS looks for articles that engage in this exciting mix of scholarship that will be of interest to our multidisciplinary and international audience.
IROPS focuses on politics and international relations, yet the journal also accepts papers on area studies (Balkans, Caucasus, Europe, Central Asia etc.), international relations sociology, international security, sociology, and anthropology from all over the world. IROPS encourages interdisciplinary studies.
NOTES FOR CONTRIBUTORS
Articles submitted for publication are subject to peer review. First, the Editorial Board takes into consideration whether submitted manuscripts follow the rules for scientific writing. Accepted articles are then sent to two referees known for their academic reputation in their respective fields.
The Editors and referees use a three-step guideline in assessing submissions:
i) Literary quality: Writing style, language usage, organization (paragraphing, syntax, flow etc.).
ii) Use of references: Referencing, sources, relationships between footnotes and text, usage of recent and sufficient sources.
iii) Scholarship quality: Depth of research, quality, contribution, originality of the contribution (new and creative thought) and plausibility of the author’s argument.
Upon the referees’ decision the articles are published, sent to their respective authors for further editing and published later, or rejected. In any case, the authors are informed and the review process takes around six months. Questions regarding the status of submissions should be directed to the Editors by e-mail at [email protected] and [email protected] Referee reports are kept confidential.
